Does this sound like you?

  • Explaining your pain to a new provider for the tenth time, and getting the same shrug
  • Saying “I’m fine” so often it barely feels like a lie anymore
  • Planning errands around your worst hours instead of your actual schedule
  • A flare that shows up with no trigger you can point to
  • Feeling worn out from the pain before the day has even really started
  • Wondering if anyone will ever actually find what’s wrong

Why It Happens

Chronic pain outlives the injury. Something keeps it going.

Long after tissue heals, pain can stick around. Often it’s the nervous system itself staying on high alert, muscles that have guarded the area so long they’ve forgotten how to relax, and movement you’ve been avoiding that’s left your body more sensitive, not less.

None of that shows up on a scan, which is exactly why so many people with chronic pain have a stack of normal test results and no answers. It takes a real, cause-first evaluation of your movement, strength, and how your body actually responds, to find what’s still driving it. Find the real cause, and the fix gets obvious.

The Honest Truth

Waiting on chronic pain doesn’t make it wait on you.

If you keep waiting

  • The nervous system gets more sensitive, not less, the longer it goes unaddressed
  • You keep shrinking your world to fit around it, one activity at a time
  • Deconditioning sets in, which feeds the exact sensitivity that’s driving the pain

If you start this week

  • You get a real evaluation of what’s actually happening in your body right now
  • Hands-on relief and a movement starting point begin your very first visit
  • You get a plan with an endpoint: a real one, not another open-ended referral

You’re the one who’s kept showing up anyway, at work, for your family, through years nobody else saw. That’s not weakness, that’s exactly why you’re the last one to ask for help. Nobody regrets starting early. Every week, someone in our clinic says they regret waiting.

How We Fix It

The same four phases. Built for chronic pain.

Every plan has an endpoint. Here’s what the four phases look like when pain has stuck around.

Weeks 1–2

Pain

Calm the system down.

Hands-on techniques and graded movement lower the alarm your nervous system has been sounding, starting your very first visit.

Weeks 2–6

Prime

Rebuild trust in movement.

Gradual, guided movement retrains your body to move without bracing against pain that’s no longer protecting anything.

Weeks 6–12

Perform

Build real capacity back.

Progressive strengthening restores the activity tolerance that years of guarding wore away.

Weeks 12+

Prevent

Get your life back, not just less pain.

You leave with a flare-up plan and a real return to what you’d stopped doing: that’s the endpoint, not just another appointment.

They have been kind and thoughtful with my care. The diagnosis and treatment has really helped.

Questions, Answered

What people ask before booking for chronic pain.

Because normal scans don't mean nothing's wrong, they just mean the cause isn't something imaging catches. Chronic pain is often driven by movement patterns, muscle guarding, and a nervous system stuck on alert, none of which show up on an MRI. We start with a hands-on evaluation of how your body actually moves and responds. You don't need another scan to start finding answers.

Yes, and in most cases it's essential. Avoiding movement tends to make a sensitive nervous system more sensitive, not less. The key is dosing the right movement for your body, which is exactly what a Doctor of PT sorts out at your evaluation, then progresses safely as you improve.

Most patients feel meaningful change within 4–6 visits. A full plan for chronic pain runs through all four phases, Pain, Prime, Perform, and Prevent, typically over 10–12 weeks, since longstanding pain takes a bit longer to unwind. Either way, you get a plan with an endpoint: you'll always know which phase you're in and what's left, not an open-ended string of appointments.
