Weeks 1–2
Pain
Calm the shoulder down.
Hands-on techniques calm the irritated tendon and take the edge off, starting your very first visit.
What We Treat
Reaching for the top shelf and stopping halfway: rotator cuff pain, frozen shoulder, that catch every time you lift overhead. It's fixable, and it starts with a cause-first evaluation, not a guess.

Why It Happens
Shoulder pain usually comes down to the rotator cuff, the small muscles that keep your shoulder blade and arm bone tracking together overhead. When your shoulder blade doesn't move well or those muscles fatigue, the tendon gets pinched every time you lift.
That pinching is what builds up into the catch and the ache you feel reaching overhead. It's rarely just wear and tear, it's a mechanical problem, and a cause-first evaluation is how we find exactly what's tracking wrong.
The Honest Truth
You're the one who used to be the strongest one in the room. Which is exactly why "it'll work itself out" has been your excuse for months. Nobody regrets starting early. Every week, someone in our clinic says they regret waiting this long.
How We Fix It
Every plan has an endpoint. Here's what the four phases look like.
Weeks 1–2
Pain
Hands-on techniques calm the irritated tendon and take the edge off, starting your very first visit.
Weeks 2–6
Prime
Targeted mobility work restores the overhead motion your shoulder's been guarding since this started.
Weeks 6–10
Perform
Progressive strengthening rebuilds the rotator cuff stability that was missing in the first place.
Weeks 10+
Prevent
Real-world lifting and overhead movement get tested under load before you're cleared to go all-in, that's the endpoint, not just another appointment.
Dr. Pepper is the best. He not only shows you the exercise needed for your therapy but will make sure you understand why it helps your body. I refer all my family and friends to him.

Questions, Answered
Usually not, and it's rarely the first step for shoulder pain. We start with a hands-on evaluation to find what's actually driving your symptoms, and if imaging ever becomes genuinely necessary, we'll help you get it. You don't have to wait on a scan to start feeling better.
In most cases, yes, and movement helps more than rest does. Total rest tends to make your shoulder stiffer and weaker, which sets up the next flare-up. The key is dosing the right movement for you, which is exactly what a Doctor of PT sorts out at your evaluation, then progresses safely as you improve.
Most patients feel meaningful change within 4–6 visits. A full plan runs through all four phases, Pain, Prime, Perform, and Prevent, typically over 8–10 weeks, depending on how long you've been dealing with it. Either way, you get a plan with an endpoint: you'll always know which phase you're in and what's left.
