Physical Therapist
I grew up in Joshua and graduated from Joshua High School. I got my Bachelors Degree from Oklahoma Baptist University then a Masters Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at Austin. While at UT I worked with the football team and women’s basketball as well as many other sports while working toward my athletic trainer credentials and completing my degree. I worked as an athletic trainer in San Antonio for 2 years, Joshua for 2 years, and Midlothian for 10 years. In 2010, I returned to school and pursued my Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Hardin Simmons University, graduating in December 2012. I’ve been married for 5 years to my wonderful husband, Craig.
When I worked as an athletic trainer, I was the primary athletic trainer for all the athletes who needed rehab following surgery or for any other lengthy injury. Straight out of Physical Therapy school, I worked with stroke and brain injury patients in an inpatient rehab hospital in Jackson, MS. I worked at an inpatient rehab hospital in Ft Worth, working with any patient or condition. For the past 10 years I have been working at Harris Methodist Hospital in downtown Ft Worth. For 8 of those 10 years I was the lead physical therapist in the long term area of the hospital working with patients who were trying to wean off of a ventilator from various medical conditions.
Here in Dr. Pepper Physical Therapy, I fix Neurological issues. I’d like to be the best at treating back issues.
Neurological deficits, back pain, and overall discouragement from the pain or lack of function are issues I’d like to fix and love treating.
When I’m not working, I love making memory quilts for people. Whether from t-shirts from their own memories or clothing from loved ones. My husband, Craig, loves to quilt as well, so we spend our time together doing what we enjoy most!
Core Values:
My faith in Christ and my relationship with Him is what guides me. I want all I do to be honoring to Him.
